About Dr. Halmos

Our Philosophy

  1. Dentistry is a specialty of medicine

    • While pursuing his dental studies at Harvard, Dr. Halmos spent 2 years of the 4 year program attending Harvard Medical School.  With his unique medical training, Dr. Halmos is well trained to view his patient’s oral health as one component of their overall health and not just a “mouth”.
  1. Comprehensive care is the standard of care

    • Most dentistry being done today is “problem-focused”.  The patient arrives at the dental office with a particular problem.  The patient leaves the office with the problem resolved, but other problems that are as important, if not more important, are ignored until they appear as new problems weeks or months later.  Our office believes in “comprehensive care”.  A great deal of time is spent during your initial visit examining your health and your oral health to diagnose problems that are present today and those that may arise in the future.  After your comprehensive examination, you will leave the office with a detailed understanding of your oral health condition and the treatment that will solve your current problems, and prevent future ones.
  1. Dentistry is an investment in your quality of life

    • If you are visiting our web site, you likely know how your dental health can affect your quality of life.  Many of our patients present with problems that affect their quality of life in the following ways:
      • Favoring one side of their mouth to chew food adequately and without pain
      • Selecting the type of food eaten based on what they CAN eat, and not based on what they WANT to eat
      • Restricting your smile in conversation and in pictures to avoid showing discolored, crooked, or missing teeth
      • Avoiding the use of certain words that don’t come out sounding right due to missing teeth
      • Wearing dentures 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to avoid being without them in front of your significant other

If your quality of life is suffering due to these problems or similar ones, something can be done to improve your situation.  Dental technology has improved drastically in the past few years and we sincerely believe that problems that were unsolvable only 3 years ago can now be solved.  Consider making an investment in your quality of life!
